The history of MECO can be traced back to the quiet opening of its doors in 1933. But the company's substantial influence on marine, oil and gas watermakers would initially be felt almost 10 years later with the patenting of the Vapor Compression desalination process for seawater.

When the oil and gas companies began offshore operations in the late 1940s, they turned to MECO for its innovative watermakers. In the coming years, we continued to explore and refine the process, introducing new technologies along the way. Waste Heat and Reverse Osmosis were added to our product line during that time, making us the one supplier offering all three types of watermakers used by the offshore industry.

Because we're experienced with all three processes, we're able evaluate each individual application and make recommendations for the best system for the particular requirement.
