MECO System Procedures and Engineering Operating Instructions define the process for identifying, recording, verifying, validating and approving design changes. Design changes are initiated via Engineering Change Orders (ECO). If applicable, the review of the design and development changes includes an evaluation of the effect of the changes on constituent parts and delivered products. All ECOs are approved by authorized Engineering personnel.

Electronic notifications of ECOs are issued to applicable functional departments such as Drafting, Manufacturing and Quality. If the ECO impacts drawings currently released to production, Manufacturing Drawing Control (MDC) will issue the ECO to the shop floor along with any revised drawings, work orders and bills of material. All outdated drawings, work orders and bills of material are removed from the shop floor.

All records for ECOs are maintained electronically in our ManFact System.
