Breathing New Life into Older Plants can Reduce Costs, Extend Life and Improve Performance
MECO extends the life of water treatment plants by reengineering, upgrading and refurbishing older plants. The benefits of this service include:
- An extension of the plants life reducing the capital outlay for new equipment.
- Improved operation of the plant through more accurate operating control, higher equipment reliability and reduced maintenance.
- An updated system to meet higher quality assurance and standards of validation.
MECO plants stand the test of time and have a normal life expectancy greater than 15 years. This is supported by the fact that there are hundreds of plants in service longer than 15 years- some operating after 30 years of service- that continue to produce excellent quality water. With aging comes the issue of obsolescence, new technologies and consistency of plant operation within facilities.
Plants more than 5 years old may be equipped with any one of the several types of control systems; such as older programmable logic controllers (PLC's) smart transmitters, instruments and valves that come as complete kits. Upgrades include the material, labor, engineering programming services, PLC documentation and assistance of a MECO serviceman to oversee the installation, perform PLC verification and perform start-up of the plant.
